Our culture is saturated with sexual messages bombarding every segment of our society. Pornography’s expanse into the digital age has made access and consumption virtually unrestricted, even to our children. Healthy attitudes and the sexuality of our society is being distorted – the result often being the deterioration of relationships by the fantasy lie of pornography. The hidden shame from porn use so often motivates us to conceal it’s part in our lives, causing us to lead secretive, closed off lives affecting our ability to have authentic relationships with ourselves and those close to us.
The deeper issue of brokenness and emptiness that consumers seek to fill is the true heart of the matter. Despite the damage that pornography use can cause, there is hope. We understand the hidden shame of pornography, and are committed to restoring healthy authentic relationships for all affected by its use.
When someone is struggling with an addiction or destructive lifestyle, whether it be sex, sex industry, drugs, alcohol, food, pornography, gambling, and more, you can count on shame being at the core – the very root – of that struggle.
Society has taught us to look at the fruit (addictions or compulsive behaviors) as the problem. We readily consume self-help books, go to counseling or treatment centers, turn to the church or religious institutions for help and guidance, or join one of the many anonymous groups in an effort to eliminate the behavior(s).
The Power of Porn Initiative provides an honest look inside the REAL truth about pornography. Porn thrives on lies – lies about sex, women, men, marriage and what men and women want in relationships. Our initiative provides truthful insights in understanding the Power of Porn in a way you will not experience anywhere else.
